Terms and Conditions

Crossroads Himalaya Trips to Ladakh

1. To secure a place on any of the Crossroads Himalaya trips, a non-refundable $500 deposit is required. The full amount of the cost of the trip will be due ten weeks before the departure date of your trip.

2. Medical forms will be submitted as soon as possible upon booking the trip, and your place is not secure on the trip until we receive and review those forms.

3. Passport information, medical insurance policy, flight itineraries, and Indian visas are to be obtained independently and submitted with the full installment.

4. Your deposit and payment to Crossroads Himalaya is only refundable if the trip is cancelled, which would be due to something out of our control.

5. It is only possible to participate on the trip if you show proof of being fully covered by health insurance. Included in your policy must be personal injury, medical expenses abroad, emergency medical evacuation, death and repatriation. It’s also not a bad idea to take out trip insurance to cover theft, loss of luggage/equipment and curtailments or cancellations.

6. Safety is a foremost concern to us, and although we do everything in our capacity to ensure a safe and healthy trip, there always runs the risk of unexpected hazards for which we cannot be held accountable. This is an adventurous trip and you are taking part at your own risk and are responsible for your own actions (later you will have to sign a release of liability contract).

7. You need to be fit and healthy to sign up for this trip. Ladakh is a remote and rugged region of the world and we will be spending time at altitudes between 11,000 and 18,000 ft. (we will provide guidance for adjusting cautiously and avoiding unnecessary sickness). We will be walking and trekking for part of the trip. The food and facilities may be a bit more rustic and basic than what you are used to. We need to know of any pre-existing medical conditions before the trip to ensure that you will have a safe and healthy experience.

8. We are dedicated to making these trips educational and engaging, where proceeds go to support grassroots initiatives to improve the livelihoods and preserve the culture and environment of Ladakh. It is our hope that this is a wonderful and magical experience for you, where you are exposed to an entirely different culture and breathtaking landscape. We try to stay as true to the intended trip itineraries as possible, but there are always factors out of our control that may require changes or adjustments to each trip. CH reserves the right to make any alterations to the itineraries, changes, or cancellations due to emergencies or external factors, and CH leader's are the ones to make decisions regarding the health and safety of the entire group.
